Cosy restaurant with great food!
This quaint little restaurant is very cosy (we visited on a cold and blustery October evening) and were greeted by a friendly waiter who guided us to a table inside. Inside almost feels like someone’s home with old tiled floors and family pictures displayed on the fireplace with a big wine rack on the wall. The menu is simple yet plenty of variety. We chose the fried sardines with bread and meat/cheese platter to start with followed by the shrimp and mussels in spaghetti and the hot rack of ribs and chips all guzzled down with a nice bottle of red. Food was very flavoursome and the portion sizes were spot on. The waiter suggested to cut the normal portion of ribs down as we wouldn’t be able to eat it but even the smaller portion was huge! (Photos to follow). You must try the chocolate orange cake for dessert…amazing! This island is full of orange trees so you’ll probably find oranges feature in some of the desserts. The only thing that is not great for some is the service is quite slow but that’s the motto that they live and work by – “We live slowly, we cook slowly, we dine and wine slowly, we even make love slowly…so if you are in a rush this is not a proper place for you” and couldn’t agree more! Just encourages you to enjoy the wine, company and food at a relaxed pace!
